FAQ

Common questions about our free-to-play, educational fantasy cricket simulator.

Absolutely not. Fantasy Skills Arena is a purely educational simulator with a 100% free-to-play model. We do not facilitate or permit any real-money betting, wagering, or gambling. Our system uses real match data solely to teach you fantasy cricket strategy without any financial risk.

Key points:

  • No entry fees, no subscription fees, and no in-app purchases are required to participate.
  • All points and rankings are purely virtual—there are no cash prizes or gift cards.
  • We do not integrate any third-party payment gateways for betting or monetary transactions.

Building and managing your fantasy cricket team on Fantasy Skills Arena is simple and straightforward. Follow these steps:

  1. Sign Up: Register with a valid email and password (no fees required). Verify your email address to activate your account.
  2. Select a Live Match: Navigate to the “How It Works” section or Dashboard to view ongoing and upcoming matches. Choose any match you’d like to simulate.
  3. Pick Your Squad: You have a virtual budget (e.g., 100 credits) to select 11 real players from both teams. Each player carries a cost based on form, role (batsman/bowler/all-rounder/wicket-keeper), and recent performance metrics.
    • You must pick at least 1 wicket-keeper and a minimum of 3 bowlers.
    • You cannot exceed your allocated budget when choosing players.
    • Team composition rules (caps on number of all-rounders, foreign player limits) are displayed in the selection UI.
  4. Captain & Vice-Captain: Choose a captain and vice-captain for your squad. The captain earns 2× points, and the vice-captain earns 1.5× points based on their simulated performance.
  5. Submit & Track: Finalize your lineup before the toss or match start time. Once the match begins, your team’s points will update in real-time based on live ball-by-ball data (runs scored, wickets taken, catches, strike rates, economy rates).
  6. Make Substitutions (If Allowed): If your league rules permit, you can make in-match substitutions during scheduled breaks (e.g., after the first innings). Check the specific contest rules—some leagues allow a maximum of 2 substitutions.

All of these steps are done within our intuitive Team Builder interface, which includes tooltips explaining each position, player form graphs, head-to-head stats, and pitch condition insights. It’s designed to help you learn why certain picks make sense from a strategic standpoint.

Fantasy Skills Arena integrates live ball-by-ball updates from official cricket data providers. Our scoring algorithm is fully transparent and documented in the Help Center. Below is an overview of how points are assigned:

  • Batting Points:
    • 1 run = 1 point.
    • Boundary bonus: +1 point for every four, +2 points for every six.
    • Strike Rate Bonus: +4 points if SR > 80, +6 points if SR > 100 (min 20 balls faced).
    • Milestone bonus: +10 points for 50 runs, +20 for 100 runs in a single inning.
  • Bowling Points:
    • 1 wicket = 25 points.
    • Maiden over = +5 points per maiden.
    • 4-wicket haul = +8 bonus points; 5-wicket haul = +16 bonus points.
    • Economy Rate Bonus: +4 points if ER < 3.5, +6 points if ER < 2 (min 2 overs bowled).
  • Fielding Points:
    • Catch taken = +10 points.
    • Stumping = +10 points.
    • Run-out affected (direct hit or assist) = +10 points.
  • Captain & Vice-Captain Multiplier: Captain = 2×; Vice-Captain = 1.5× on all points earned.

These calculations occur ball-by-ball. For example, if your batsman hits a four, you earn 1 (run) + 1 (boundary bonus) = 2 points immediately. If that batsman later finishes with a strike rate above 100 and scores 60 runs, he picks up additional strike-rate and milestone bonuses.

Points are updated on the live leaderboard every few seconds. At the end of the match, your total points determine your ranking in that match’s simulation. Detailed analytics help you review which picks performed well and why.

While we operate on a free-to-play model, Fantasy Skills Arena does not offer any real-world prizes, cash, gift cards, or monetary rewards. Instead, you “win” by:

  • Accumulating the highest virtual points in a simulation.
  • Improving your personal leaderboard rank over time.
  • Unlocking educational badges and achievements (e.g., “Top Strategist of the Week”).
  • Comparing your performance against friends and the community in a risk-free environment.

These achievements are purely for reputation and learning. All points, badges, and leaderboards are virtual—no cash value is associated with them.

However, from time to time, we may run non-monetary contests (e.g., “Create a Cricket Strategy Video” or “Share Your Best Fantasy Insight”) where winners receive digital certificates, in-app recognition, or social media shout-outs. All such promotions will be clearly labeled, and participation is voluntary.

To ensure compliance with local regulations and promote responsible play, Fantasy Skills Arena enforces the following restrictions:

Yes! We encourage you to invite friends to learn fantasy cricket together. Here’s how the referral program works:

  • Get Your Unique Referral Link: Navigate to “Profile → Invite & Earn.” Copy your unique referral code or link.
  • Share with Friends: Share your link via social media, messaging apps, or email. When a friend signs up using your referral link and completes at least one match simulation, both you and your friend earn a “Referrer Badge” on your profile.
  • Leaderboard Boost: Each successful referral grants you 50 bonus points on the weekly “Community Engagement” leaderboard. These points do not affect match scores but appear on a separate public leaderboard that ranks top community contributors.
  • No Monetary Incentives: This program is purely for community building. We do not provide any cash, gift cards, or financial rewards.
  • Limitations: You can refer up to 10 friends per month. Referrals beyond that will not yield additional bonus points. Referred users must be new to Fantasy Skills Arena (no existing account).

We continuously maintain and update both player data and scoring formulas to reflect official rule changes, IPL/ICC announcements, and performance metrics:

  • Daily Data Sync: Live match stats (runs, wickets, catches, economy rates) are synced every 10 seconds during an active match, using APIs from our sports data partners.
  • Scoring Rule Adjustments: Before each major tournament (e.g., IPL, World Cup), we review official cricket board announcements for any changes in playing conditions (e.g., new super over rules, field restrictions). We update our scoring algorithm accordingly and announce the changes on our blog at least 48 hours before the first match.
  • Seasonal Player Ratings: At the start of each domestic and international season, we recalibrate player base costs (credits) based on recent performance, injury status, and market sentiment (using public sources). This ensures that player costs reflect current form.
  • Help Center Documentation: All scoring rules, including point breakdowns for batting, bowling, and fielding, are documented in our Help Center. We provide a “Change Log” page where you can view historical updates, effective dates, and rationale behind each scoring tweak.
  • User Notifications: When scoring rules or player-cost structures change, we send an in-app notification and an email summary to all active users. You can also view upcoming changes under “Profile → Notifications.”
